After last year’s phenomenal triumph of the musical White Christmas which starred Aled Jones at the Liverpool theatre, the pantomime will once again take centre stage and with a cast that will surely be greeted with a big smile and much love by audiences over the festive period.
Cinderella herself will be played by Liverpool’s own Liz McClarnon. She is following in the footsteps of her Atomic Kitten band-mate, Natasha Hamilton, who wowed crowds as Peter Pan a couple of years ago. Liz McClarnon said, “I’ve had my Christmas wish granted. I’m so excited to play Cinderella back home in Liverpool. It’s going to be such a fabulous show with all the glitz and glamour of the West End.”
Joining Liz at the Empire Theatre will be Coleen Nolan as the Fairy Godmother and much loved Liverpool institutions, Radio City’s Pete Price and actress Pauline Daniels as the two Ugly Sisters.
The General Manager of the theatre, Andrew Rawlinson, said, “We are absolutely thrilled that pantomime is returning to the Empire. The people of Liverpool wanted a number one panto in their number one theatre and that’s what we’ve done. They wanted a high quality show at good affordable prices, and again we listened. The Empire is renowned for bringing the very best in entertainment to this culturally vibrant city, and Cinderella will be no exception. Only the very best for the very best.”
Cinderella, runs from the 14th December 2012 until 6th January 2013. Tickets start from £10 and are available direct from the Liverpool Empire Box office, by calling 0844 8713017 or booking online at www.atgtickets.com/liverpool.
