Good evening everyone!
Welcome to this week’s editor’s letter. I’ve just sat down after a Sunday roast and a busy week, as have many of you I’m sure!
This week has been another full one on campus – I can’t believe week three is upon us already. The forums got off to a good start, and we live blogged from Guild Life and University Life. Societies Life and Liverpool Life will take place tomorrow and Tuesday – be sure to find the details here and get involved with your student experience.
We’ve been championing societies including BodySoc and the Society of Change Ringings. Some of our regular columns launched including ‘Five films to see this week’, which joins our continuing ‘Classic DVD of the week’. Over in the food and drink section, Meat-free Monday, Frugal Friday and a look at living gluten free will be keeping you fed over the next year. A Student Guide to… gives you the lowdown on other student cities, in case you’re visiting friends or just going exploring! We’ll be bringing you political blogs, campus style and lots more over the coming weeks.
As we head towards mid-October – yes I’m already thinking about Halloween – there is still a lot to get up to. 24 Festival Drums will be running week two of their training, Film Society are showing Princess Mononoke (a personal fave), Art Society have life drawing sessions and the Give it a Go programme hosts all things environmental from the roof garden to FoodCycle via Leave Liverpool Tidy.
Wednesday is World Mental Health Day, a really important cause as we try to break down the barriers and stigma associated with mental illness. Events will be taking place all day at the Guild including a free film screening of A Beautiful Mind and a debate with Liverpool Debating. LSMedia will also be getting involved so head back here to see our feature.
As always, if you want to get involved with LSMedia or get in touch for any reason, my email is firstname.lastname@example.org
You can find the whole editor team here if you want to chat with any of them about column or article ideas. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page as we have lots of competitions coming up over the next few weeks.
Have a great week!
