You don’t get much of a better accolade than B.B.C.’s Radio Six presenter Stuart Maconie’s assertion that you are, “A great psychedelic pop group.”

Such is the pull and growing prestige of Liverpool’s The Wicked Whispers that they are gearing up to release their debut single Dandelion Eyes on Monday 27th August on Electone Records. Last year brought The Wicked Whispers very much to the public eye, with intrigue being sparked after two on-line demo’s surfaced. The band then took to the road for a series of ‘hit and run’ shows up and down the U.K. as well as playing domestic and European Festivals. The band has also joined fellow Liverpool heroes Echo and the Bunnymen and The Lightning Seeds on their tours.

Hot on the heels of the band’s debut single being released, the Wicked Whispers have announced a series of intimate headline shows as well as their biggest hometown show to date. Starting in Manchester at The Soup Kitchen on October 5th, the group will then travel on to London, Newcastle and Glasgow before playing to their local fans at the o2 Academy on Hotham Street on the 27th October.

The Wicked Whispers are a cracking band to catch live and in times where things seem quite bleak, they are a ray of sunshine and more importantly, fun to watch.

Tickets for the o2 Academy show on Saturday 27th October are on sale now. Tickets cost £6 in advance and are available from www.thewickedwhispers.com or from the o2 Academy Box office.
