Dolly Parton’s Musical 9 To 5 To Come To The Liverpool Empire.

It was one of the hit films of the early 1980’s, it had a killer theme tune and it enhanced the careers of Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, Now 9 to 5, the musical is coming to the Liverpool Empire Theatre in January 2013.

9 To 5 is a hilarious new musical comedy, based on the hit film and centres on three office workers who turn the tables on their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot of a boss. They conspire to take control of the company and learn there’s nothing you can’t do.

The musical is written by Patricia Resnick, with music and lyrics written by one of the queens of country Dolly Parton. The hit title song 9 To 5 won Ms. Parton an Oscar nomination and four Grammy Award nominations.

The cast will include Natalie Casey who is probably best known as Donna in the comedy series of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. Her theatre credits include Oklahoma at Chichester Festival Theatre and Legally Blonde in the West End. Alongside Ms. Casey will be Bonnie Langford (Doctor Who, Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway) Jackie Clune, Amy Lennox and Ben Richards.

Performances for 9 to 5 are Monday 14th through toSaturday 19TH January, with two matinees available to watch on the Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets are priced from £10 and are available from the Liverpool Empire Box office, on line at or by telephone on 08448713017.
