After a successful time at The Edinburgh Fringe, Mate Drama Workshop return to the Merseyside theatre arena with The Yarn, the play that earned them a four star review from the SG Fringe, a highly entertaining and evocative production which is a fantastical patchwork of joyous tales, painful rituals and bizarre superstitions.

Written by Rob Brannen and Directed by Gaynor La Rocca  bring the story from beyond the haystacks, a dark comedy with original folk music, epic storytelling, heart-warming friendships and tender poignancy will leave audiences spellbound.

Mate Drama Workshop has a reputation for staging exciting, high quality productions in a wide range of genres; from new music theatre to adaptations of classic texts, from social community drama to site-specific promenade theatre.

Ian was bought up in Birmingham and has lived for the last eight years in a city he has come to think of as his home. In the last ten years he has worked for two of the finest media organisations it has been his pleasure to be part of, the Birmingham Mail and LSMedia.
