Good evening everyone, and welcome to the editor’s letter!

Freshers’ week has now been and gone and I’m betting most of us have the hangovers to prove it – I know I do.

It was great to see so many new faces (and hopefully new writers!) at the Welcome Fairs this Thursday and Friday – if you missed us, you’re still more than welcome to join us! Read this page to learn more or just pop along to our first meeting – it’s this Friday at 5pm in the old Guild building.

If you’re not quite ready to write yet, why not have a read around? This week we’ve been to the Unity theatre’s Hovering on the Edge and the Guild’s new weekly Comedy Club, while I love this piece by Alice on how the University of Liverpool’s been in your life already. Joanna has news of cancer research funding at the University, while our former Arts editor Ian is part of a new writing showcase, Voices this Saturday. If you fancy trying your luck, we also have a giveaway on for a freshers’ survival kit from Macmillan.

Have a great week – and here’s to a big year!
