bard_logo_avatar_square_inv_3With the success of their first public debate of the year behind them Liverpool Debating Union are due to hold their next debate on Tuesday 15th October, in association with the International Debate Education Association (IDEA).

The motion for the debate is ‘This House Would Ban All Forms of Animal Research’ and is part of a unique project by IDEA, that involves debating societies throughout the world debating the same motion during the same week.

Held at 5.30pm on the 15th October in the Gilmour Room, Liverpool Debating Union join societies from other universities including the University of Cambridge, University of Manchester, Trinity College Dublin and even James Madison University in the USA.

Speakers at the event currently include Ben McSkelly (PhD student in Physics and winner of the NAMDA Novice Cup in 2010) and Niall O’Rourke (Semi-Finalist at NAMDA Novice 2012 and Novice Finalist at Leeds Open 2013).
