Despite only forming around six months ago Liverpool four-piece Circa Waves already appear to be making ‘waves’ (pardon the pun). Described by many as one the UK’s most sought after unsigned bands their profile and reputation appears to be rapidly growing.
Their debut single ‘Get Away’ was recently selected as Zane Lowe’s hottest record in the world right now, and emulated acts such as London Grammar, Jake Bugg and Arctic Monkeys. Regular BBC Radio 1 and XFM airplay followed and is likely to be a sign of things to come from this emerging Merseyside quartet.
The soon to be released ‘Get Away’ was recorded in Liverpool and blends a catchy crunching guitar sound with lyrics that effortlessly fall off the tongue.
“…and the wiser any man can be, makes the tougher things all the more easy.”
This audio snap shot only wets the appetite for more material, with an album rumoured to be released next year. A local band worth keeping an ear out for. Upcoming headline gigs are scheduled towards the end of October, including gigs at the Fallow Cafe in Manchester and the Bowery in Sheffield. No Liverpool dates have been released yet but it’s likely a homecoming gig will be in the pipeline.
‘Get Away’ is released on Monday 2nd December via Transgressive Records and can also be pre-order on cassette, 7 inch vinyl or MP3.
