Wednesday night saw the VIP launch of acclaimed Liverpool fashion designer Francesca Kearns’ flagship store in the Metquarter – and LSMedia were lucky enough to attend. Around 400 fashion fans descended on the shopping centre to watch a 40 minute showcase of her Autumn/Winter collection and witness the official opening of the store, whilst being treated to complimentary champagne from a Playground pop up bar.
The collection is undeniably influenced by the flamboyant and fabulous scouse style that Liverpool is renowned for, featuring plenty of sequins, ruffles and tartan. Considering the glamourous pieces on show, it’s no wonder that Francesca has an ever expanding arsenal of celebrity fans including Michelle Keegan, Amy Childs and Helen Flanagan. Our favourite piece from the night was the gorgeous halter neck black sequinned tutu dress priced at £295 (we’ll be saving our pennies for party season).
Francesca, 28, a West Derby native who graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2008 with a BA Hons in Fashion and Design, said: “It’s a dream come true for me to open in Metquarter. I’ve had a lot of input into the look and feel of the store, which I think is the perfect fit for my brand. I can’t wait start dressing Liverpool girls for the upcoming Christmas season.”
Metquarter centre manager Jennina O’Neill added: “Francesca’s label has gone from strength to strength in the last few years and we’re delighted she’s decided to open her flagship store at Metquarter, we’re certain it will be a very popular addition to the centre and perfectly compliments the likes of Kurt Geiger, MAC, Illamasqua and Mococo.”
Francesca’s store is now open to the public – and we very much recommend paying her a visit!
