8653712761_5bbc055a5d_bIt has today been announced that Johnny Marr is to play a one-off intimate gig in Liverpool’s Arts Club in March.

2 days before playing alongside the likes of The Who, Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds at the 15th anniversary Teenage Cancer Trust shows at the Royal Albert Hall, Marr will play to a much smaller crowd at Liverpool’s Arts Club on Wednesday 25 March.

The warm-up gig will mark two years since the guitarists last performance in the city whilst touring his debut album The Messenger, released in 2013, a mind-blowing 29 years after The Smiths debut.

Since 2013’s gig at Liverpool’s O2 academy, Marr has released a follow-up to The Messenger, with Playland seeing release in October 2014.

Tickets for the event will go on sale at 9am on Thursday 5 February from Johnny Marr’s website.
