Liverpool Student Media got a chance to sit down with some of the candidates running for Guild president and ask them a couple of questions.
What subject were you studying?
International politics and policy
Where are you from?
Were you a member of any societies?
I was the President of the Band Society
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I sing in a band, I also like painting my nails and reading.
What do you love most about Liverpool?
I love the quirky gig venues, the friendliness, and there is always something going on, it also has so much cultural history which is great.
Give us one little known fact about you…
I’m in a play this term as a part of LUDS (Liverpool University Drama Society), it is an original play called ‘I am The Chosen One’
What made you decide to stand for election?
The same reason as last time. When I first came to uni I had a really rubbish time and nearly dropped out. Uni is built up to be an amazing experience and it just wasn’t for me, I was about to jack it all in, but then I went along to the AGM (Annual General Meeting) of BandSoc and became a part of the committee. I started to get involved in more Guild based stuff in order to make sure no one ends up in a similar position to me. I want everyone to feel involved and to feel that there is opportunity there.
