X Factor runner up Rebecca Ferguson is set to embark on a two month tour across Britain in early 2016. The singer, who hails from Liverpool, will be performing songs from her third studio album Lady Sings the Blues, which is a reinterpretation of the classic album by the legendary jazz artist Billie Holiday in line with the 100th anniversary of her birth. The album is Rebecca’s third consecutive top 10 album, reaching number 7 last month.
The album has gathered praise from critics such as the media website Digital Spy, who wrote that the singer brought “her own brand of smooth Liverpool soul to the American jazz”, and The Telegraph who stated that the album was “rich, tender and soulful”. To date Rebecca has acquired 3 top 20 hits, including Nothing’s Real But Love and I Hope and has been nominated for 2 MOBO awards. The single Get Happy serves as the lead track from the album.
The songstress will be coming to Liverpool on the 8th February 2016 and will perform at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. The singer often expresses love for her home town and is no doubt looking forward to returning to her roots and give a truly memorable performance for her fans, who have supported her since her appearance on X Factor 2010 and are eagerly anticipating the singer’s rendition of such a well-known album. If Rebecca sounds only half as good as her previous live performances, then 8th February 2016 is going to be a truly special day for Liverpudlian music lovers.
