Today all future and present students at the University of Liverpool waited with baited breath for the Guild to announce its line-up for Welcome Week 2015, and believe me we were not disappointed!
Freshers Week will run from Saturday 19th until Sunday 27th September.
This will be the second Freshers Week in the £14.25 million refurbished Liverpool Guild of Students which is Britain’s biggest (and best- although I am slightly biased) Student Union.
With top acts including DJ sets from Jaguar Skills and the Headphone Disco on Sunday 20th and on Monday the 21st-Wilkinson, the man that brought you Afterglow (as featured in the tantalising promo video for this years Freshers Week). A personal favourite of mine The Pigeon Detectives will be headlining the stage on Wednesday, Thursday’s line up looks set to be a killer night with a paint party overseen by DJ Danny Jones, so be prepared for things to get messy! Welcome Ball on Saturday is your chance to get classy (or not, we don’t judge) with tunes coming from Subfocus its set to be an amazing night.
But its not just about the music, there will be Live comedy from Sean Walsh on Tuesday to get you tickled. On Friday there will also be a giant screening of Jurassic park to chill and lets face it, help you battle through that hangover, don’t worry I’m sure that plenty of other people will still be covered in paint. Plus Welcome Fair running Thursday and Friday to get involved with all the amazing societies and sports clubs that Liverpool has on offer. Finally on the Sunday there will be a Big Quiz where you can bond and impress your new found BFFLs with your in depth knowledge of Spice Girls and 18th century pottery.
Previous Freshers weeks have all been incredibly successful and this years will be no different.
Ticket prices have not yet be announced but we do know it’ll truly be a savage week of none stop partying and loose morals that you will never forget.
