The Liverpool Cheerleaders posed nude for a racy 2017 Calendar – and you can buy it now.

This year the cheerleading team have gone all out to raise money for Women In Sport by posing for a naked calendar.

The team posed ready, taking pictures in the sports hall as well as Sefton park.

Test Shot: Before the robes came off…

Natalie Carpenter, the cheerleading president, said “this year lots of girls approached us at the fresher’s fair saying ‘I’m too fat to be a cheerleader’ or ‘I’ll never fit into that outfit’. The foxes are a family and we wanted to show we should all be proud of our bodies, whilst having fun and raising money for a great charity.”

The process of making the calendar took a lot of planning and a few awkward moments. Sophie Hewitt, one of the current fundraisers, said “when people first arrived, everyone was quite nervous and awkward, not really knowing what to do. However, after only the first photo or two it became really fun! People stopped worrying as much about what they looked like and we just had a laugh and joked around instead.

“At first people had been covering themselves but by the end of the shoot basically everyone was walking around half naked! It was really nice to see the girls grow in confidence and I hope it has made all of them realise that they don’t need to feel awkward or ashamed about their bodies, they are all beautiful!”

The funds raised by the calendar will be divided between the team themselves and the charity Women In Sport, which helps to promote gender equality in sport and the health of young women.

Natalie noted that “cheerleading can often be a sport that isn’t recognised by the wider community. We want to support this charity to encourage young women to get involved in sport, whichever one that may be.”
