With a little over a month to go, tickets are still available for the Threshold Festival of Music & Arts which is taking place from Friday 31st March to Sunday 2st April. The popular festival is returning to the Baltic Triangle District of Liverpool for the seventh time since its conception in 2011. This year is set to be the biggest yet.
Those seeking the best that Liverpool’s homegrown talent has to offer need look no further. This festival has received critical acclaim for bringing people together and increasing the exposure of many Northwest ‘grass-root’ artists. The creative district that is the Baltic Triangle offers an alternative atmosphere that mirrors that of the diverse music and art on display, making it the perfect location for the festival.
There is something for everyone across the weekend with the 2017 line-up, including emerging bands such as Hardcore Hornography, the Disastronauts, False Advertising and Elevant; satisfying music tastes all the way from punk to jazz and from pop to rock. Up-and-coming solo artists like Tiz Mcnamara, Daisy Gill and Tabitha Jade will also be performing. The full line-up offers even more talent and can be viewed here on the festival’s website: http://thresholdfestival.co.uk/2017-line-up/.
Aspiring student musicians can get involved too: the winner of the University of Liverpool’s Band Society’s ‘Battle of the Bands’ will win the incredible opportunity to perform at the festival. This also means you will be able to support some of your fellow students at the festival.
Other exciting events include Mad Pride, a popular addition to the festival last year involving the Liverpool Mental Health Consortium joining forces with the festival to celebrate creativity in the Mad Pride Parade. The parade has been described as ‘the jewel in the crown of Mad Pride at Threshold 7!’. With events like this, the Threshold Festival is not to be missed.
