Panam is a rustic and quaint little bar and restaurant found in the prime location of the Albert Dock close to Echo Arena and the shopping centre. It offers a beautiful view from both the ground and first floor of the restaurant over the docks. The contemporary bar offers a delicious myriad of choices of starters, mains and desserts. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly and it wasn’t too busy so there was no overcrowding. The staff were incredibly welcoming and had a quick service regarding both the bill and food. It appeared all very clean and updated, with a free wifi service for you to capture and upload those food pictures to Instagram!
When I visited I had the Panam fried chicken burger, a special recipe of chicken burger, lettuce, tomato, provolone, cheese and garlic mayonnaise. A toasted glazed seeded bun, cajun fries and vegetable slaw finished it off perfectly. The ingredients tasted fresh and well seasoned, the meal overall was delightful I would definitely visit again. My mum had the Gourmet burger, this is made from house ground Welsh black beef burger, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickled gherkin, jalapeno and garlic mayonnaise. Similarly to mine, this came with cajun fries, vegetable slaw and a toasted glazed seeded bun. My brother had the 6oz rump steak, fried eggs, hand cut chunky chips and roasted tomatoes. According to him the steak was perfectly cooked and the chips were soft but crunchy on the outside. There was just the right amount of food full of lots of flavour and texture. Next time he said he’d probably go for the Brooklyn beer battered haddock and hand cut chunky chips.
Both my family and I were absolutely full with this delicious selection of dishes, so we decided not to have a dessert. However there was a selection of extremely tempting desserts on offer. From a blueberry and mascarpone cheesecake with coconut ice cream to the classic sticky toffee pudding and banana ice cream to a rich and sweet chocolate truffle with a cherry compote. Whatever indulgent you choose you are sure not to be disappointed.
The place offers a range of events from exclusive concert offers to VIP celebrations for special days like Mother’s Day. It’s even open for Sunday lunch, there’s a choice between a two course meal for £14.95 or a three course meal for £18.95. These freshly prepared roasts are served from 12-5pm. If all of this isn’t enough to tempt you then there is also the bottomless brunch which consists of a two course brunch menu complimented with unlimited Prosecco, Bloody Mary or Mimosa. Served from 11am-4pm every Saturday for only £29.95, can this deal get any better?
