“Reginald D. Hunter joins the top rank of stand-up comedians working today…A comedian going for broke, flying in the face of received opinion in a way that is simply exhilarating……this is comedy of a rare scope” – Times
“Stand-up comedy’s coolest customer” – Telegraph
American comedian, Reginald D. Hunter, renowned for his sharp wit, laid back style and hilarious criticisms of society, is back on tour with what is sure to be another side splitting set. The tour preview of ‘Some People V Reginald D. Hunter’ will be stopping off at The Epstein Theatre this Thursday, as well as in other cities such as Manchester, Nottingham and London.
The comedian has previously appeared on famous shows such as ‘Live at the Apollo’ as well as a range of television series such as ‘8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown‘ and the largely popular ‘Would I Lie to You?‘. His direct and sometimes, shockingly straight to the point humour has driven his popularity with audiences and many have been anticipating his return to the UK.
Hunter’s previous shows have broached the topics of racism, religion and culture amongst others, showing that he isn’t one to shy away from those big questions in his content. His fascination with the contrast between British culture and American culture is also a frequent part of his routines; satirising our tendencies to “defend positions we don’t hold”, obsess over grammar and of course, confuse Americans with our irony and sarcasm.
Hunter’s satirical, searingly honest look at race relations in Britain and in America is also a defining aspect of his routines – addressing the controversy of these topics head on and both mocking and challenging society’s conventions on what should and shouldn’t be discussed about the issues.
It is undeniable that this latest show, ‘Some People V Reginald D. Hunter’ will be one to remember and will certainly get people talking.
