With spring in full swing, the fashion and beauty team here at The Sphinx have decided to pick their beauty favourites for the month of March, giving you plenty of time to update your collection for the new season.

The girls have made a fair few new discoveries that we feel our readers should know about, and with our tried and tested opinions, lets get to it…

Megan’s Pick

Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer

“The ‘Naked Skin’ concealer is perfect for brightening the under eyes, and covering those dark circles. It is ideal as it doesn’t settle in to fine lines and provides a fair amount of coverage. The winter months can take their toll on your skin, causing dryness and dullness. I find however, that the brightness and lightweight nature of this product leaves you looking awake and flawless! Retailing at £19, it may not be the most cost-effective, but the results will ensure that you will not regret this purchase!”

Marianna’s pick

NYX soft matte lip cream

“Without a doubt, my monthly favourite would be the NYX soft matte lip cream in the shade ‘Abu Dhabi’. Having searched for a brown lipstick for a considerable amount of time, a close friend recommended this product, hence someone I could trust. At just £5.99, available in places such as Boots and Debenhams, this is a must have in your makeup collection! Unlike many other ‘matte’ lipsticks, this product doesn’t crack. The soft texture of the lip cream means that any signs of dry lips are prevented, challenging the reputation of the matte lipstick. The shade itself compliments my olive complexion however I believe it will be suitable for any skin tone.”

Courtney’s pick

Mac powder blush (pro palette)

“My beauty favourite of March is the Mac powder blush from the Pro palette in the shade ‘Apple Red’. Although you can’t buy this colour individually, a refill pan can be purchased at a cheaper price of £16. Not only was it the perfect shade that I was looking for, but it is also incredibly pigmented and can be used easily on the eyes or cheeks! I received so many compliments on my birthday when I used this as an eyeshadow, and would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking for a true red.”

Alex’s pick

Benefit GALifornia pink blush

“My favourite of the month is the new Benefit ‘GALifornia’ pink blush, retailing at £24.50. Its the perfect shade of pink for Spring, with a hint of shimmer in the formula, it leaves a healthy, glowing finish to the skin. I wouldn’t leave the house without it!”

Holly’s pick

Benefit Roller Lash mascara

“At £19.50, the Benefit Roller Lash mascara is simply the best. It curls, adds volume and lengthens, all this whilst holding for hours and can be easily removed! The mascara also contains lash-conditioning benefits with B5 and serin ingredients. I will definitely never be without this on a night out!”

Georgia’s pick

Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes

“These wipes are my favourite of the month as they are really good at keeping my skin clear all day long. Having an oily t-zone, the zinc PCA in the ingredients works better than the standard Simple wipes I had previously been using. My skin still feels lovely and fresh by the evening, even after a long day at uni!”

That was the Beauty’s teams selection of favourites for the Spring, now bring on Summer…
