Student media is vastly growing on campus, keeping our student population up to date with all things Liverpool and UoL. If you want to get involved, covering everything from independent arts and culture to opinion pieces on what matters to you, why not join Ellipsis?

‘Ellipsis Magazine is the University of Liverpool’s arts and culture magazine. Our aim is to bring the student population at the University of Liverpool the latest in arts and culture, as well as provide a platform for students and the community to share their work and develop their skills in journalism and writing.’

‘Our society status means that we’re also able to provide a range of socials and fun activities throughout the year.’

‘First and foremost, we’re a student-led print magazine! Our efforts go into the production of our fancy print magazine, free to pick up around campus and at selected local businesses. The whole team is involved in the production of the magazine, from the editing of articles to the selection of photography from cover to cover. We tend to release our Winter edition in February and our Summer edition in June.’

‘Anyone can be a part of the team, whether you’re a complete beginner or an expert in writing. The committee is trained at the start of the year to support you as you move from first draft to publishing. We use our online member-only platform, the Ellipsis Hub, to communicate with our team and host online courses for skills development, check on the status of your articles and access our rewards system. We were shortlisted for Best Website at the Student Publication Awards 2017 and Best Media Society at the National Society Awards 2017!’

‘If you’ve got any questions about who we are, what we do and how we can enhance your time at university, don’t hesitate to drop us an email!’

‘Fancy joining? Head over to our Join Page and get started!’

‘Membership is £5 for the academic year, giving you access to the Ellipsis Hub, our online member only platform and reduced fees for socials!’

“The thing I love about our society is our team’s contribution to the print magazine. It’s really exciting when we get our hands on a fresh new print. The magazine is a testament to the enthusiasm and commitment of every single member who has contributed, and for that reason I couldn’t imagine being part of a better community of writers.” – Jordan Holdsworth

“Joining Ellipsis has given me the platform I needed to publish my work and gain confidence in allowing the public to read and respond to it. I’ve loved meeting wonderfully creative people every week to discuss and inspire different and interesting ideas.” – Greta Sion
