Headlock Vintage are a clothing company based in York renowned for the student events that they organise across the country, hopping from campus to campus.  On top of this, they’re one of very few vintage sales that endorse free entry.

The company visited Liverpool Guild of Students the past Wednesday to display an array of all things vintage. Open from 10am through till 5pm, with the replenishment of stock throughout the course of the day, it was evident the vintage fair grabbed the attention of lots of students. Having personally made a trip to the sale (and managing to bag myself the most gorgeous denim jacket for just 15!), I could see there were plenty others like me, keen to catch a bargain.

On entrance into Mountford hall there were 6 rows dedicated to the collections of clothing: flannel shirts, jumpers, dresses, denim, shell jackets and waxed coats. The room was simply filled with colour. Within the assortments of clothing, there were brands such as Adidas, Nike, Levis and so on, selling for just £20 and under!

Now Liverpool isn’t a city where you come short of quirky vintage stores, however for students, Headlock provided a convenient and close stop to uni for people to quickly pop in, rather than venturing down into town. Additionally, making it easy for students with busy schedules to make an appearance.

I happened to make two trips throughout the day to the guild and found that, although Headlock
were updating stock during the day, the choice of clothing was distinctly better, together with the appeal and quality of clothing, in the earlier stages of the sale; between 10am and 12pm. Therefore, for some people that might of visited the sale later in the day, they could have been left relatively disappointed. But most buyers were leaving very pleased.

Overall, the sale was an indefinite success whilst Headlock have already announced a second visit for this semester on the 10th November. So, for anyone unlucky to have missed the first event, there is nothing to worry about as they are certainly returning with even more vintage wonders.

If you simply can’t wait that long, Headlock Vintage do have their own website with links to their ASOS and Ebay online stores: http://www.headlockvintage.co.uk
