Sunday roasts are the ultimate British delicacy that we take very seriously as a way of celebrating homely cooking and quality time with friends and family at its best. Everyone has their own way of creating their unique roasts whether that be the softness of the Yorkshires, thickness of gravy or the types of vegetables to be served. A roast is something very special to our British culture and with Christmas round the corner what a better way to get inspired.  So if you’re trying to think of a way to end the weekend in a filling and relaxing manner then you’re just in luck as The Sphinx has rounded up the top ones to be found in Liverpool!

Frederik’s is an excellent choice for a classic Sunday roast, especially if you fancy going all out and ordering a three course style of dining. You can choose from either a two course meal for only £15.00 or treat yourself with the three course meal for £18.50. There’s plenty on offer for a tasty roast, choose from either the roast chicken with apricot stuffing, roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, roast pork with apple sauce or my personal favourite the mushroom and spinach nut roast with Yorkshire pudding. You are most definitely spoilt for choice with this place especially since it’s only a ten minute walk off Uni campus on Hope Street.

Camp and Furnace

Roasts are served from 12pm to 6pm on Sundays and diners are sat in a communal style making it a friendly and sociable event. Remember to make a reservation as this place is pretty popular and you wouldn’t want to be disappointed!

Smuggler’s Cove

To end our list we are finishing with a visit to Smuggler’s Cove. This charismatic gem is located at The Albert Docks and although a little unusual to think of as a place to visit for a cracking roast dinner, it definitely is one to consider. They’re known for their traditional home cooking making it perfect for families and friends to enjoy everything they have to offer. Plus their location at the beautiful Albert Docks only adds to a fun day out.
