Ever fancied yourself the next Steven Spielberg?

Television, media itself, is undoubtably central to society. It’s a big escape for students from the stresses and woes of deadlines, it is a great topic for conversation and debate, plus – all our household furniture it angled towards it, which obviously says a lot. With the university already having a firm basis for student media, Liverpool University TV is a brand new and exciting addition, which you have an opportunity to showcase your talent and be a part of it.

Liverpool University TV (LUTV) is the university’s only television society that allows for likeminded individuals to come together, collaborate, and get creative through making they’re very own TV content. Whether on a digital platform or traditional TV, the newly formed society is looking for enthusiastic and creative students, who all share a love for filming, producing, directing, editing, screen writing, even just an interest in making their ideas come to life on the big TV screen.

Not only will this be a fantastic opportunity to build a professional portfolio if you’re considering a career in television, but it will also be a lot of fun, working on something you enjoy, being in the company of people who share your interests, even using our campus as a platform to showcase your work to fellow students. The media industry is forever expanding and becoming more competitive, and this is not only an enjoyable way to master your craft, but also looks great to potential employers.

‘LUTV aims to create unique and original content across a wide range of genres, from comedy to documentaries and everything in between. We will take an idea or concept and make it come to life, that is why we are looking individuals who are passionate about creating TV content. No experience is necessary and we are looking for a wide array of students to fill roles. We’re looking for writers, producers, directors, camera operators, sound engineers, actors and everything in between. Essentially, as long as you are an ideas person, that is exactly what we want!’ – Charles Stewart, President of LUTV

So whether you’re interest is in production, post-production, work on or off screen, you name it,  LUTV welcomes and has a place for everyone, and is definitely a society worth getting involved with!
