Hot on the heels of Sigala’s most recent collaboration with Ella Eyre ‘Came Here For Love’ comes the DJ’s latest offering  ‘Lullaby,’ featuring the eclectic, whimsical-looking British songstress Paloma Faith, a track that is set to tickle your music taste buds for sure. This is not the first time that the endearing, retro-influenced Ms Faith has featured on a dance collaboration – how could we forget her featuring on Sigma’s platinum No.1 banger ‘Changing’ back in 2014? Thank goodness she has teamed up with Sigala to provide her mezzo-soprano vocals for this new feel-good house-pop banger.

One thing that both Sigala and Paloma Faith have in common is that they both take great pride in crafting songs about love, and ‘Lullaby’ is no exception. In a recent interview with the UK’s Official Charts Company, the Norwich-born DJ described this new song as “an ode to the person who’s stuck with you through all the highs and lows” and how he’s happy to have Hackney-born Paloma Faith on board with it, saying “Paloma’s unique voice is perfect for it.” And it is not hard to understand why. Just listen to her gruff yet feathery, soulful melodies flow against the song’s euphoric rhythm, as she chants rather emitting, soul-baring lyrics such as “No journey is too far for the one who healed my scars/You’re my saviour, you’re my star/Let me hold you.” How many other artists out their today can provide a unique style to a mainstream genre of music like this, as well as be able to provide lyrics which really speak to the fans?

Two totally different musical backgrounds being interlinked  is a rare feat that can not always be pulled off, yet Sigala and Paloma Faith are examples of the very few artists who do succeed. ‘Lullaby’ is currently at No.21 on the UK Singles Chart, so let us not pay dust to this ultra feel good track and make it the No.1 summer smash hit that it deserves to be!

Note: ‘Lullaby’ by Sigala and Paloma Faith is now available for download and streaming across all devices. You can also catch Paloma Faith performing this song as well as many other songs of her own on The Architect Tour, which comes to Liverpool’s very own Echo Arena on Tuesday 20th March 2018.
