The Botanical Garden has once more shone as the jewel in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, an intimate and idyllic hideaway a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. And after what has been its finest summer to date during its 4th season, blessed with many weeks of sizzling sunshine throughout many long sultry days, now the team look ahead to the closing party on Saturday 29th September as the season begins to turn.
It’s going to be a proper send off, with a fireworks spectacular, free ice cream donut sandwiches from Hotbox Donuts, a selection of DJs who have sound-tracked the beatific setting for the last few months, and of course copious amounts of fine gin, artisanal cocktails and delicious food.
This is the last week to experience the magic The Botanical Garden is infused with both day and night. So, as the nights draw in a little faster and the weather gets a little colder, drinks like the ‘New Bird Winter Warmer’ are essential, with cherry-infused gin, hot ginger ale and fruits creating a sumptuous drink to chase away the cold. Gin is always the focus at The Botanical Garden, with a mesmerising range of drinks to savour, a wide palette of flavours and styles sourced from around the world.
So now the month is winding down and the sun’s touch dimming, The Botanical Garden remains a little piece of sanctuary in the city, a sublime escape tucked away down a narrow street in the shadow of the looming Anglican Cathedral in the background. The urban oasis attracts a diverse demographic reflective of the thriving Liverpool itself, all drawn to the wonderful al-fresco setting in the heart of its creative quarter. Come and join them for their final week of the year.
The Botanical Garden is open 12pm – 11pm all week, depending on the weather.
