With just one week left until Christmas, undoubtedly one of the most exciting evenings of the year, we’ve put together some of our top picks of things to do around the Pier Head, to get well and truly into the Christmas spirit ahead of the big day.

Enjoy a free ice skating performance…

On 24th December, the Young Superstar Ice Skaters will be performing at Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival, highlighting the best of Liverpool’s young skating talent.

At 12.15pm and 2.15pm, the rink will be transformed into a stage for the children and teenagers of Liverpool’s ice skating scene to come together for a series of gold medal-worthy performances. Each solo act will be performing a unique solo act that is sure to wow the crowds. After the show, visitors will also be able to enjoy the family-friendly festival experience with funfair rides, ice skating, and festive food and drink stalls serving delicious après skate specialities, including sizzling traditional German bratwurst, Yorkshire Pudding wraps, crepes, mulled wine and hot chocolate.

Do some last minute shopping…

For those of us who aren’t as organised as we could be, Royal Albert Dock is a great spot for some last minute shopping from some of the city’s finest independents. With its eclectic retail offering there’s something for everyone, including handmade leather goods from Leather Satchel Company and unique gifts and home ware at the Nest, to customised treat filled hampers at Lunyalita and unique t-shirts at Lost Soles.

Enjoy a tasty dinner…

There’s nothing like a Christmas Eve feast with family or friends to get into the festive spirit, with a number of tasty options at Royal Albert Dock. Family-run Peaberry Coffee House and Kitchen offers a diverse menu of delicious sharing plates and main dishes, including everything from the Vegan Tower to the Cornflake Chicken and Chorizo Burger.

For a Spanish feast, Lunyalita offers a range of flavoursome tapas and sharing plates, perfect for larger parties. Diners can also head to Revolucion de Cuba for a Cuban feast, with the menu featuring everything from succulent Paella, to Black Bean and Butternut Squash Chilli.
