Music singles review

Singles out 9th October Love Me – The 1975 Manchester indie band The 1975 are back after a two year break with Love Me, an eighties inspired pop track that suggests a change in direction for the group. You would be forgiven for finding Love Me a tad underwhelming on first listen, especially compared with their previously vibrant singles Chocolate and Girls, but after a few listens you find yourself warming to the almost hypnotic beat. Definitely a grower, and fans of Duran Duran are sure to love it. Click here to listen to the track on Spotify Hey Everybody! –...

Singles out 2nd October Around the World – Natalie La Rose feat. Fetty Wap Dutch singer Natalie La Rose shot to fame earlier this year with her hit single Somebody, and four months later the singer returns with Around the World, a more dance-focused single that’s sure to be blasted out of club speakers in the coming weeks. Singles out 25th September: Alive – Sia Australian jaz/pop singer Sia is back after a short break with her new song Alive, the first cut to be taken from her upcoming album This is Acting. The track is typically Sia, from the powerfully raw vocals, the pain-infused lyrics, and the booming production, and fans of the songstress are bound to adore it. Whilst it would have been nice to see the singer cover new ground, Alive is still a solid effort, and it’s sure to be yet another hit for Australia’s biggest pop star. Songs released Friday 18th September: Runnin’ (Lose It All) – Naughty Boy feat. Beyonce & Arrow Bejamin When English music producer Naughty Boy announced his new single featuring Beyonce a couple of days ago, nobody could believe it. How on Earth did relatively unknown producer Naughty Boy land Beyonce, one of the most famous and influential musicians of this century? We may never know the answer, but for now we must focus on the important thing: the music. Beyonce’s vocals work surprisingly well with drum and bass, as does the vocals of newcomer Arrow Benjamin, and their voices complement each...
